#7 - What is Loyalty?

Loyalty is faithfulness or a devotion to a personcountry, group, or cause. (Philosophers disagree regarding what can be objects of a person's loyalty. Some, argue that one can be loyal to a broad range of things, while others argue that it is only possible for loyalty to be to another person and that it is strictly interpersonal.)
There are many aspects to loyalty. John Kleinig, professor of Philosophy at City University of New York, observes that over the years the idea has been treated by writers from Aeschylus through John Galsworthy to Joseph Conrad, by psychologists, psychiatrists, sociologists, scholars of religion, political economists, scholars of business and marketing, and — most particularly — by political theorists, who deal with it in terms of loyalty oaths and patriotism. As a philosophical concept, loyalty was largely untreated by philosophers until the work of Josiah Royce, the "grand exception" in Kleinig's words. John Ladd, professor of Philosophy at Brown University writing in the Macmillan Encyclopaedia of Philosophy in 1967, observes that by that time the subject had received "scant attention in philosophical literature". This he attributed to "odious" associations that the subject had with nationalism, including the nationalism of Nazism, and with the metaphysics of idealism, which he characterized as "obsolete". He argued that such associations were, however, faulty, and that the notion of loyalty is "an essential ingredient in any civilized and humane system of morals".  Kleinig observes that from the 1980s onwards, the subject gained attention, with philosophers variously relating it to (amongst other things) professional ethicswhistleblowingfriendship, and vitue theory.

#7 - What is Beauty?

Beauty is a characteristic of a person, animal, placeobject, or idea that provides a perceptual experience of pleasure or satisfaction. Beauty is studied as part of aestheticssociologysocial psychology, and culture. An "ideal beauty" is an entity which is admired, or possesses features widely attributed to beauty in a particular culture, for perfection.
The experience of "beauty" often involves an interpretation of some entity as being in balance and harmony with nature, which may lead to feelings of attraction and emotional well-being. Because this can be a subjective experience, it is often said that "beauty is in the eye of the beholder."
There is evidence that perceptions of beauty are evolutionary determined, that things, aspects of people and landscapes considered beautiful are typically found in situations likely to give enhanced survival of the perceiving human's genes.

#6 - Cortes Boarding House -- Descriptive

There are lots of  boarding house in Iligan City where it can also serve for the students as a home away from home. And I am from Kapatagan living here in Iligan at Cortes Boarding house for studying. I don't know why we came this boarding house at the time we're finding then I got in because there was a vacant bed space.
It was very excited to first stay this boarding house  when I'm still in our place and at the time I'm living here , i can say that it just like a home. A place that all students living in this boarding house were united as if a family and at the time of the exams, we helped each other if one will asked question to somebody.
The quality of the boarding house is well ventilated even if some or most of the boarders didn't throw thee garbage properly caused by the unwanted odor and makes me feel bad that I went to bed and slept instead of studying. But when it was cleaned by our landlady and her daughter, the original odor come back. I, as a boarder, i helped to clean the boarding house but that feeling you are only one will clean that and no one help you  can made me feel mad and said to myself that I will not do it again. But later on when I saw the table very scruffy I will clean so my word is just a word.
Our boarding house is on the second floor and ground floor is the house or the hone of our landlady with her daughter and granddaughter and grandson. It was painted with color dark green on the corners of the house ang light green on the rest part. There are seven rooms. Two rooms for the girls and three rooms for the boys. The other room is considered as the stock room and the other one is the room of our landlady's daughter with her family. There was a balcony, a table for all in the living room  and a kitchen. It's really nice to be here in this boarding house even if it is not clean sometimes but I still like here.
I'm not saying that the boarders her are not kind hat they can't clean the mess they made but they re too busy to study. I don't know if I am busy also, I can still clean my own mess. But I admit sometimes i won't because of the procrastination and and laziness.
Even if that is the case, I still want and like this boarding house-- CORTES BOARDING HOUSE!!!!

#5 Suhi

The play Suhi last August 8 this year was really great. At first, I am confused why they  started in the middle of the story "Oedipus Rex". I really wonder who is Udin, Udoy and other characters who played their role. But later on I easily got it.
In high school, our English teacher told us the story of  "Oedipus Rex", obviously I had already a little background about it, when our professor told us that the play was derived from this story, which Udin plays as Oedipus, I had an idea with a little excitement how they twist the story to become Oedipus as "Suhi". That was really great and it's my first time to watch a theater play. A live performance which does not have any incorrect moves. Awesome!!!!

#4 "That awkward unforgettable day"

We have been doing an activity and that was very awkward when something had happened. Our activity was exploring on the falls what was on there that we can make a theory about it. The falls named Santa Cruz Falls. It was rainy  day when we were looking on the beautiful sight. As a hurry, when the big and heavy rain approached we had planned to stay  there but our group agreed to went home under the rain. I din't know what was coming on my mind that I pretend that I know  or I am mastered to climb the mountain. It was happy but awkward because as I had stepped on the smooth grass, my feet began to slide and I can't control it anymore. So that was happen, I got up side down to the land and rolled and rolled until I found a tree to hold on and then I got up. I just smiled to them and pretend that it was okay though it's not. And the awkwardness still reminds me and I even laughed at my own mistakes. I don't know how to explain it but that was really happened.

#3 "No one stops to say thank you anymore" -- Learning

"No one stops to say thank you anymore". The title itself catches my attention and knows that this is one of the good manners of a Filipino." Thank you" - to say that one simple word to one's self can ease the pain that he/she have and make his/her smile.i admit that more words I'd say to someone is not thank you, but it's  "sorry". I'd rather say that word because I can do things to them even if I don't want to.  I do mistakes to them because later that can be corrected. I love to help but my conscious mind reminds me that it was shy. I'm always thinking that I can control my mind so that I can help.
"The children emulate  what they see from the society". Yes, it is true. Like me, I have to emulate some good deeds of the people whom I idolizes. Because I want to be like them also. the words they uses, I also apply it to myself. Therefore, I always wonder that -Do it has a good influence to myself? But if I know that it was wrong, I have to stop it and look for another one that is good. The society has a big role for the next generation in the country.
I learned to say thank you depending the situation I've been encountered.

#2 What kind of an English Language Learner Am I?

I can't say that I am  but I try to be a good language learner. Even though in understanding just one reading of the teacher,I can't understand it in detailed. I understand it in thought. In writing also, I really don't know on how to be a good writer. I write and write without sense what was really the topic I have to write. In reading, I can't understand the vocabulary words,so i just passed it away without seeking what was it truly means. And if I read it with my eyes only, it seems that I'm just looking the words. I'm not reading at all. It"s so hard for me to be a good language learner because since elementary, English subject is my very difficult subject ever. I don'k want to study English. this is my weakness, to study grammar, to speak English, to read English story, and to write.
During my high school years, when our values teacher wanted us to have a journal, actually i'd wrote a lot on my journal notebook without checking the grammar so, when my classmates wants to read my journal, I keep it in my bag and said that I left it home. Why i am pretending like that because I don't want to hear their comments again. I've already experienced a lot and heard their criticisms to my work so that I get shy to show them.
So, do you think I am a good language learner?  NO! Right? ...................... So, What Kind of an English Language Learner Am I?
